I made this card to send as part of the Card Chain Challenge, an international card exchange. I based the card on all the options so we have the colours and sketch, a cat with a moustache using scraps, a twister card and friendship. Of course, I used Lost Coast Designs stamps featuring flowers and foliage and cats.
I started with a white 5" x 7" card base, stamped the
Large Shrubbery Background with Hero Arts Ocean ink on both sides of the inside of the card and scored the left hand side in the middle.
I stamped Lost Coast Designs
Fat Cat using sepia ink on a piece of kraft pizza box and the other one on a piece of kraft ice cream box. I fussy cut the cats, inked around the edges and onto the back and stuck them together with a bit of string between them. This isn't a totally symmetrical stamp, but it's pretty close, so a little gently trimming and inking and the cat is ready to twist!
I cut an aperture using a die across the fold in the left hand side of the card and glued the string along the scored line positioning the cat centrally in the aperture. Fold the half panel back on itself and glue well, especially the string.
I die cut the moustaches and green circles from card scraps. I stamped the large flower from Lost Coast Designs
ATC Doodle Flower three times on some purple scraps, fussy cut the flowers and added all these elements to the card.
Opening the card reveals the
Carmen's Veranda sentiment, made up from two different stamps, on the green circle. And if you have wound up your cat you also get him twirling.
